Trash in a garbage truck caught fire along Simpson Road Thursday morning in Fredericksburg, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. Fire crews put out the trash fire, but it took an hour to clean the charred garbage, meaning the road was closed near Warrenton Road for an hour, deputies said.

It's unclear what caused the fire. No one was injured — just inconvenienced.
